pillow speakers

these are to be placed under pillows for those who like to fall asleep to music.

made from broken headphones, wire and felt.
output is mono.
this pair is a prototype as i intend to make a variety of higher quality pillow speakers to sell in the future.

cat bed scratching post

i've seen suitcase pet beds for sale before, so i certainly am not the first to make one.

the suitcase i found in a dumpster and used for a year finally crapped out. base and stem are made from pallet wood covered with t-shirt material. the post is cardboard that was wrapped with felt i bought. the only purchase i made for this project was the rope ($4).

telephone/microphone

i've been looking for a free microphone and haven't found one, though i did find an old telephone. i'd heard of using a telephone handset before so i modified this one.

i intended to have two outputs that functioned simultaneously, but they only work one at a time. it runs on one AAA battery. the speaker end of the handset is wired to the microphone, so i can listen to myself talk.

it sounds like shit. i'm still looking for a microphone.

coasters

i refinished the coffee table some time ago. hot cups were leaving rings, thus coasters were needed.

i made these from cardboard wrapped in tee shirt material. decals were cut from vinyl samples.
the holders glued to the underside of the table are made from parts of cassette tape cases and a dvd case.

a new direction

i have failed to update this blog with content that i intended to share.

in an attempt to avoid my continual creation procrastination, i will now focus this blog on things i make or modify.

i recently discovered that i'm able to make decent recordings on my laptop using two free programs. Kristal Audio Engine and ASIO4ALL.

to become accustomed to my freshly downloaded software i used a playskool toy that i bent a while ago.

all sound samples are raw other than pan/volume.
